CHIEF WALKING BUFFALO

Chief Walking Buffalo (1871-1967) aka George McLean was for many years one of the most famous and popular Indians in the Banff region . A Stoney Indian, he served for many years as Chief of the Bearspaw band and participated actively in the Indian Association of Alberta. He was a founding member of the Buffalo Nations Cultural Society. He passed away at the age of 96 years in 1967
